Open Mic

Red Dirt Poetry hosts a weekly open mic every Wednesday at Literari Press in the Paseo. Poets can sign up for a five-minute slot beginning at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. Poets of any age and skill level are welcome. While the primary focus is poetry, we welcome musicians and other performers as well.

Reads

Red Dirt Reads takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at the Floating Bookshop. The book changes every month, so check the posted schedule. We discuss themes, connections, and our favorite poems from the collection.

Writes

Red Dirt Writes takes place on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at Literati Press. The workshop leader changes every month as does the topic. Bring a notebook and your favorite writing utensil. You will leave the workshop with a draft of a new poem.

Edits

Red Dirt Edits takes place on the first Saturday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at Second Story Books. Bring 6 copies of a poem you would like feedback on, and M. Kat will help guide us through the peer review/revision process. If you don’t have access to a printer, DM @shmemkat on Instagram; we’ve got you covered.
